For patients in Douglas, Ramsey, Peel, Castletown & across the island
Eye surgery for Isle of Man patients — with the travel taken care of
Private cataract surgery, lens replacement and laser eye surgery with Ms Tahmina Pearsall FRCOphth, a UK consultant ophthalmic surgeon with more than 40,000 procedures. Our clinics sit close to the Douglas ferry terminal and the island's flight routes — and we plan every appointment around your crossing, so most patients need just two short trips.
Getting here from the Isle of Man
By ferry — Liverpool
The Steam Packet sails from Douglas to Liverpool in about 2 hours 45 minutes. Our Liverpool clinic at 4 George's Dock Gates is a short taxi ride from the terminal — a morning sailing fits an afternoon consultation, and you can be home the same evening.
By air — Manchester
Direct flights from Ronaldsway to Manchester take around 40 minutes. Our Manchester clinic at 1 Albert Square is easy to reach from the airport by train or taxi. Sailings via Heysham with onward rail are another option.
From home — video
Where clinically appropriate, follow-up checks after surgery are done by video call — so your day-one and one-week reviews often need no crossing at all. London Harley Street is also about an hour's flight for those who prefer it.
How we make the journey easy
Appointments timed around your crossing
Tell us your preferred sailing or flight and we schedule your consultation, scans and surgery to fit — including same-day return options where safe.
One visit, everything done
Consultation, diagnostic scans and surgical planning are combined into a single 60–90 minute visit, so most patients cross only twice in total.
Video follow-ups
Routine aftercare is reviewed by video where appropriate, saving you extra ferry or flight bookings.
Journey advice in writing
You receive appointment times, the clinic address, what to bring, your drop schedule and a recovery timeline in writing — plus honest advice on when you can safely travel home.
Lens replacement starts from £2,750 per eye, with a written all-inclusive quote after your consultation. Read more about lens replacement, cataract surgery costs and laser eye surgery, or our full guide to travelling from the Isle of Man for eye surgery.
