Consultant eye care now available in five languages across the UK

Ms Tahmina Pearsall FRCOphth has extended her UK ophthalmology service with full information pages in five languages — English, Arabic, German, French and Spanish — covering consultations, cataract surgery, laser vision correction and lens replacement.

The change is aimed at two groups: UK residents whose first language is not English, and international patients travelling to London and the wider UK for consultant-led eye surgery, particularly from the Gulf and mainland Europe.

"Consent is only meaningful if it is understood," says Ms Pearsall. "Publishing the same clinical detail in a patient's own language — the risks, the lens options, the realistic outcomes, the price — is part of that."

Patients can review the private ophthalmologist service, the consultant ophthalmologist pages and fixed private pricing, then request a callback in the language of their choice. Interpreters are available for consultations on request.
